What is God of War: Ghost of Sparta?
The game was released on November 2, 2010, as part of the God of War series for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). It was developed by Ready at Dawn and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Ghost of Sparta is a hack and slash action game and is the sixth title in the full series.
This game is set in ancient Greece and follows a story filled with revenge. The main character is Kratos, the God of War. He is haunted by memories from his past and begins a journey to uncover his true history.

Where the Game Takes Place
The story is based in ancient Greece and includes many creatures from Greek myths. You will see Titans, Olympian Gods, and other legendary beings. Most of the story happens between the events of the God of War and Betrayal games released in 2005 and 2007.
You will explore Atlantis, the city made by Poseidon, the god of the sea. There you will find his great temple. Not far from Atlantis is the real-life Methana Volcano, home to Titan Thera.
There’s also the Temple of Thanatos, which holds the Death Gate, the entry to the land of the dead. Other places include Crete, Heraklion, the Mounts of Laconia and Aroania, and the city of Sparta, where Kratos comes from.
How the Game Works
Just like the earlier games, Ghost of Sparta is a single-player game with a set camera view. You will guide Kratos through battles, puzzles, and different paths during the story. The gameplay is filled with action and adventure.
You will face tough enemies like Harpies, Cyclopes, Gorgons, Minotaurs, and Satyrs. These are all taken from Greek stories.
There are platforming parts in the game too. You will climb walls, walk across narrow paths, swing on ropes, and jump over wide gaps. Some puzzles are easy, like moving boxes. Others are harder and involve finding items to open doors.
You will also get to use special powers, new fighting moves, and weapons that were not in older games in the series.
