The SAIS Investment Readiness Programme 2025, part of the Scaling Digital Agriculture Innovations through Start-ups (SAIS) project, is delivered by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
This year-long programme is designed specifically for African tech start-ups operating in agriculture, livestock, food, and climate sectors. Available in both French and English, the SAIS Investment Readiness Programme (IRP) aims to help startups attract investment and accelerate their growth.
Program Benefits:
Selected startups will receive support valued up to €35,000, including:
– Personalized mentorship and coaching from local and international experts
– Facilitation of investment and partnership opportunities
– Opportunities for community exchanges and peer learning
– Additional services and technical resources to enhance critical business areas
– Individualized training on topics such as pitch development, growth strategies, data analytics, term sheets, valuation, market analysis, and marketing & sales
– Networking and showcasing opportunities at two in-person community events, held consecutively with the Africa Tech Summit in Nairobi, and one additional sector conference (travel costs for one representative per startup are covered)
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the programme, your company must:
– Be registered in Africa
– Be profit-oriented
– Have a minimum viable product
– Offer a tech-enabled solution in the agriculture, food, or livestock value chain
– Have a management team of at least two members
– Demonstrate traction (such as paying customers or initial revenue)
– Contribute to climate change adaptation, income generation, or food and nutrition security
